Multiple monitors - troubleshooting and configuring Troubleshooting multiple monitors: All cable connections between monitors and computer or docking station are fully plugged in All monitors are turned on (the power button is usually on the bottom-right corner on the front or bottom edge) Configuring the correct monitor arrangement: Press and hold the Windows key and the "P" key at the same time to change how your computer uses each screen. In a multiple monitor setup most users prefer "extend." In extend mode, you can use both screens by dragging a window from one screen to another. If you cannot move the cursor or drag a window across the edges of the screens where they meet in the middle, you'll need to rearrange the displays in Windows: Select Start > Settings (gear icon) > System > Display Select Identify. A number appears on the screen of the display it's assigned to. Drag and drop the displays so that the arrangement in Settings matches how the monitors are physically arranged. When you're happy with the layout, select Apply. Test your new layout by moving your mouse pointer across the different displays to make sure it works as you expect.
